MY DAY is an assignment for Cedric von Niederhausen’s Editorial Concepts class at the International Center of Photography. We were instructed to take 150 photographs of what would compose our day. I chose to take screenshots of my world on Zoom, specifically of my classmates’ and mentors’ features that would otherwise be visible or masked. I complemented those with photographing the surgical masks that litter the streets of New York City. The resulting collection became a testament to the city shedding away the COVID 19 pandemic, and to those I came to call friends and mentors remaining virtual nonetheless.
